Saint Illian’s Inn Guest Reviews
“bad service – my cousin recommended st illians inn when i arrived from japan. i stayed there for 2 nitghts before i fly to iloilo that night i invited her to have a chitchat cause we seldom see each other but guess what, they charged her for 450 pesos just for staying there for an hour? that is so stupid right? she didnt…” Guest review from www.tripadvisor.com
“Perfect hotel for short stay – I loved the quaintness of St. Illian’s. We booked the hotel for a night because we needed a place to stay close the airport with an airport shuttle. We arrived at about 1am and there was a man waiting for us at the airport with a van to take us to the hotel. The staff were all super friendly and…” Guest review from www.tripadvisor.com
“Convenient and clean – Quiet, basic room. Clean. Clean. Clean. Friendly staff. Pleasantly surprised to find such a find in the city that wasn’t a big name hotel with the big name prices. Walkable to the Greenbelt shopping and dining area. Airport pick-up was worth it as arrived late in the evening. Booked one night to test it out, and ended up staying the…” Guest review from www.tripadvisor.com
“If you’re not sure where to stay in Manila for a night or two this should be just fine - I booked three nights here in Feb 2010 for 1770 pisos a night. Their taxi man was waiting for me at the airport and for 560 pisos took me to the hotel. Knowing what I know now, I will just take a metered taxi, but for the first time in crazy Manila I felt better taking the hotel taxi. I…” Guest review from www.tripadvisor.com
“St illians Inn: poor value and worse – I was greeted at the airport by a man carrying a sign with the name of my booked hotel, so I thought it was a service of that hotel, wrong assumption. This man was a freelancer finding tourists to over charge for a 5km cab ride. Only he spoke English, not the cab driver. They did not start the meter and afterward said the fare would be 560pesos. I later found out the normal fare was 110 to 150pesos. I knew he was overcharging for such a short ride so in front of the driver and this man, I asked the hotel clerk what was the normal cab fare from the airport and she said 560pesos, which means the hotel staff and this operator were working together to overcharge their newly arriving guests. And this man gets information about expected guests from hotel staff in order to be able to do this…” Guest review from www.tripadvisor.com
“Nice place – St. Illians is in Makati not too far from everything. The rooms are clean and air conditioned. The price is decent and the staff are all friendly and eager to assist you. This is where we stay every time we are in Manila. They also have a kitchen serving either American of Filipino foods…” Guest review from www.tripadvisor.com
“saint illian`s inn – very nice hotel in makati close to airport(5-10 minutes drive).will be 10 percent cheaper if you pay cash…” Guest review from www.tripadvisor.com
“Better than you’d expect from the outside – I stayed here about a year ago for one night after missing my flight and needed a cheap place for a few hours. The area looks shabby but once you go inside the hotel, the staff is friendly and the lobby is fine. Rooms are not luxurious but are clean and appropriate for this price. TWO comments: The email address…” Guest review from www.tripadvisor.com
“Great Value, Great Staff! – I thought this place was a wonderful value… everything we needed for our two 1 night layovers in Manila. The bellboys were very polite and helpful… they would happily go to the main street to hail taxis for you. The front desk staff were very polite and helpful as well. I read other reviews from this hotel and it does…” Guest review from www.tripadvisor.com
“Great Stay – Enjoyed my stay at the hotel with my girlfriend. Staff were polite and prompt with requests and food was good at a reasonable price. Our last stay was a the time of the flood and the staff were very helpful at what was a difficult time for them. If you want to be shown around Manila, ask for Gregg..” Guest review from www.tripadvisor.com
“Neat, Cozy, Cheap, Friendly, Peaceful Place to Stay in Makati – With a glance of photos on the web, I would not have considered to come as the neighbourhood looks shabby, messy electric wires hanging over the street, there’re many iron bars/frames by which the inn looks like a dormitory or even cell. But with the rave reviews here, I tried it for the last 2-day weekend, and will definitely come…” Guest review from www.tripadvisor.com
“I,ll be baaaaaaack – I like this place its cheap the rooms are clean but small the front desk people were nice ,I stayed 1 week here no problems, its located to nice shopping and close to green belt about 60 pesoes to the green belt by taxi Its located close to mcdonalds and all fast food places in the shopping center I recomend this place if your on a budget and want to stay some where safe and cheap its a little hard to find for some taxi drivers looks like an alley its in but its really a streeet youll be safe here best bet for makati for the price…” Guest review from travel.yahoo.com
“Worst Hotel I have ever stayed at – This is the first review I have ever submitted, and for good reason. I would suggest staying in the streets before booking a room in this hotel. We chose this hotel based off of the reviews on this site, and to be honest, I can’t believe anyone would have something good to say. To start off, we booked a family room, that was supposed to have 3 beds, which turned out to be 2 beds, and no other rooms available, and yet still had to pay the family room price…” Guest review from travel.yahoo.com
“i will come back – Me and my friend stay in this hotel for 2 days. What i like about this hotel is it is clean and private. The staffs are very accommodating. The interior of the hotel is homey and cozy. The food is reasonable. Tho only disadvantage is that a lot of taxi drivers does not know about the hotel…” Guest review from travel.yahoo.com
“The good, the bad and the ugly - THE GOOD: The inn is located in some back alley which may look scary in the beginning but it is relatively safe. THE BAD: For a small-sized Asian, I find the twin-sharing room to be very small without much room to put your bags nor move about. THE UGLY: Burly old men were shamelessly fondling local good-time girls along the common corridors. Quite a repulsive sight. Makes you wonder what the rooms they’ve booked are for…” Guest review from travel.yahoo.com

“nothing – i don’t like it very ugly.the rooms are not good…thes ervice is ugly..they are not nice to customers.they give no quality in their sofas, beds and other facilities…” Guest review from travel.yahoo.com
“Will never go back! – How would you like to experienced infront of you as guest of the hotel, the fights of the owner of this hotel. Yes, it did happen and I won’t be surprised if it is still ongoing. The smashing of flower vase in the lobby of the hotel, the profanities exchanges by both husband and wife of the hotel. Tsk, Tsk, this is not a hotel. Goodluck to your safety when you check in…” Guest review from travel.yahoo.com
“This one’s great value for money. – When you pull up in a “taxi” outside St Illians, you think it looks pretty small. The street outside looks pretty dangerous for a newcomer to Manila … but once you step inside the foyer you immediately notice the clean and cool interior. Porters are directed to take your luggage. Everyone speaks excellent English and you are given clear and easy to understand directions and information…” Guest review from travel.yahoo.com
“Loved it!We will be back – My new wife(asawa)and I were very happy with the service and friendliness at Saint Illians Inn.The staff was very kind and helpful. We loved the peace and quiet in our room.We enjoyed the cable TV.The air conditioner was nice and cool and quiet. We also liked to walk to the many restaurants and stores nearby. We loved the down to earth feel and the off the beaten path at Saint Illians Inn. This was a very affordable and pleasent part of my visit to the Philippines. We plan to visit again in 2007. Thanks and God bless you!…” Guest review from travel.yahoo.com
