“their standard of service has declined and have neglected small details such as: providing only one bathrobe when there are two occupants in the room (there were 2 bathrobes on the first day and only one on the 2nd day), bathrobe had a hole on the underarm, hair dryer was missing, bath accessories were not sufficiently replaced. “My mother and I stayed at the Peninsula for four nights.. two nights, then a trip to Boracay (a must do) and two nights before home.. The hotel is stunning especially the foyer and lobby. “Good for leisure – Not for business… in terms of business the hotel is very poor. I booked and used the boardroom on the Club Floor level – Level 4. It was completely unprepared. “I am a American and was traveling by myself. I felt safe at this hotel. And I loved the massages for $15 USD and the inexpensive manicures in the salon. I recommend calling the hotel and arranging for their Mercedes to pick you up at the airport. “My wife left her earrings in the safety deposit box and never recovered them. The security staff did not have a clue on how to handle the investigation of the incident. Such a turn-off for a hotel that boasts of high tech security. We stayed at the Makati tower of the hotel for a week. “Consistently excellent, and extremely good value for a high-end hotel. Spices restaurant, on the ground floor, is one of the best in Manila. Sunday brunch in Nielson’s (ground floor, again) is a terrific deal. The concierge recommended several excellent places to visit at night. Security is comprehensive, without being intrusive. “Belldesk too slow as I had to call down for drop off of luggage upon check-in. Check-in a bit slow and impersonal. Not much hospitality exhibited . To compare , lessons can be learned from the J.W. Mariott in Bangkok on Sukhumitt as that truly is a 5 Star Hotel. Check out was more friendly and hospitable. As a frequent flyer in Business and First and a frequent hotel overnighter throughout the year , I believe first impressions with reception staff and bell services define your hotel.
