Guest Reviews Of Mandarin Oriental
“The service was very good, but the food was mediocre and the rooms and hallways are in desperate need of redecoration. Good location, nice pool area. Until it’s renovated, I would recommend only if it’s cheaper than other high-end Makati hotels.” Guest review from www.hotels.com
“the best!! We´r absolutly going to stay there if we are going back.” Guest review from www.hotels.com
“this hotel needs a major face lift. it is run down and dirty. the food and restaurant is great.. and the staff was very good. but the rooms are TIRED. i wouldnt suggest anyone stay here unless it is cheap.. or upgraded.” Guest review from www.hotels.com
“Front door employees pick and choose which guest to accomodate in getting you a cab or getting you welcome. And the room airconditiong does not give you much comfort. I set the temperature to the lowest but the temperature remains the same. Which I would say is not comfortable for sleeping and have to remove the comforter. The only consolation is the pool is great and great staff at the front desk.” Guest review from www.hotels.com
“I loved my stay here. I received personal attention in the best hotel in the Philippines!” Guest review from www.hotels.com
“Super clean, quiet and very well serviced by hotel personnel” Guest review from www.hotels.com
“We arrived late at the hotel as I was flying in to Manila from Abu Dhabi. Checking-in was quick and painless and business-like. Check-in personnel were friendly and polite. I found the room rather small with little room to move about. The room was well-equipped, however. I like rooms with iron and ironing boards. Well stocked mini-bar, although I didn’t use it. Bathroom toiletries were fine. Cleanliness leaves a lot to be desired. Breakfast buffet was quite good with a good selection and the staff friendly.” Guest review from www.expedia.com
“Although the Mandarin Oriental is a little long in the tooth and needs refurbishment, I will definitely stay there next time I’m in Manila. The staff are all so genuinely warm and attentive, friendly yet still perfectly professional. Not a bad location, great restaurants and clubs and entertainment too.” Guest review from www.expedia.com
“We stayed one night in the Mandarin Oriental hotel. It is a bit further from the shopping districts than other hotels, so it can be a bit of a walk to shopping, restaurants, and bars. The hotel is a little outdated, it seemed as if it may have been a great place to stay 25 years, but by todays standards it needs a little bit of work. The hotel wasn’t bad, it’s definitely a decent place to stay, but there are other hotels in the area that are far better in location and amenities for the same price.” Guest review from www.expedia.com
“Considering all of the nice Mandarin Oriental Hotels in Asia and other 5 star hotels in Manila, this one is the worst!! Run down, lousy lobby area, poor check in experience, small rooms, somewhat untidy.” Guest review from www.expedia.com
“You’ll enjoy the warm hospitality when you check in the Mandarin Oriental almost before you enter the stark but handsomely appointed lobby. However, if you get a chance to stay at the Executive Floor, you will feel very comfortable and pampered at the Club Lounge. It offers a cozy setting and a luscious view of the Makati skyline. You’ll enjoy complimentary afternoon appetizers and light breakfast fare. The best is the staff concern about your comfort and genuine open friendliness. You will feel welcomed and at home during your stay in Manila.” Guest review from www.expedia.com
“The hotal was very dark in color, and presented a very somber mood, The prices at the reasruant were extremely high compared to out food facilites, and service presentation was poor. The area is very busy with car traffic, and you can hear this upto 7 floor. this is uncomfortable for business traveler and those not familar withthe area I would suggest all forgien travel stay above 9th floor” Guest review from www.expedia.com
“I origionally planned to stay for two days, but had to quickly catch a flight out the afternoon of the second day. I was in an extreme rush, and the front desk staff had me checked out, and in an airport cab in minutes. I will be terurning to Manila one week every month and will definitly stay at the Mandarin again.” Guest review from www.expedia.com
“I don’t know why Mandarin insists on sticking to the “old world luxury” feeling with bulky furniture and a bulky TV when all the other top hotels are renovating and refurbishing their rooms to make it sleeker and more modern WITHOUT losing the feeling of luxury. It’s just sad how the mandarin seems to be stuck in the past.” Guest review from www.virtualtourist.com
“Was upgraded to suite, because of my business. Nice work out facility. Excellent service, staff remembers your name on the Executive floors! Front desk staff extremely service oriented.” Guest review from www.virtualtourist.com
“Enough said — Wow. This is a world class hotel. The rooms are clean, comfortable and quiet — something to be said for this city of horns blaring all hours of the night. This hotel has the most professional. courteous, and personable staff I have ever come across. The fitness center and pool areas are well kept and staffed by a great crew. The pool is world class.” Guest review from www.virtualtourist.com
“I’ve been to Manila many times and stayed here. The service is excellent from the hotel taxi to housekeeping. Concierge was very helpful. One time I had to mail an envelope with thick documents to USA and they just did it for free because I was running to the airport. Great for business trip, spacious bathroom, good breakfast.” Guest review from www.virtualtourist.com
“Very pampered , friendly staff , good value , nice restaurant and good location.” Guest review from www.virtualtourist.com
“I must say the room was good, so was the bath room. In terms of a luxury hotel…. I missed having a decent lobby to wait and see people walking by. The breakfast buffet for the cheaper rooms is not good for this kind of room. Regarding the pool…. not much to say. UNique quality for me was the bathroom and the hotel stuff.” Guest review from www.virtualtourist.com
“When I visit Manila, always I use this hotel. The staff in the reataurant are wonderfull and I can spend very nice time during taking breakfast. Then I can start the day nicely.” Guest review from www.travelpod.com
“I stayed at this hotel for 7 days and was more than impressed. The staff were so professional, courteous, helpful, etc. All my needs were immediately addressed and taken care of.” Guest review from www.travelpod.com
“Upon our arrival, one one opened the car door, no one greeted us, no one took our luggage. The check in person was without smile. We reseerved two connected rooms but were given two separate rooms..” Guest review from www.travelpod.com
“I was there for business trip, but staying in hotel made it more enjoyable…the hotel is centrally located….accessible to the main Central Business District of Makati City.” Guest review from www.travelpod.com
“The hotel has seen better days and is in need of a major renovation. The carpet in my suite was dusty and badly needed cleaning.” Guest review from www.travelpod.com
“The Mandarin Oriental hotel proved welcoming and very friendly – I was particularly impressed by the staff, all of whom seemed to go out of their way to make my stay comfortable.” Guest review from www.travelpod.com
“The location and the food is great. The staff are friendly and attentive. When we checked in our room had a faint smell of cigarettes despite it being a non-smoking floor so they changed our room. Later that night, we had some trouble with the airconditioning of our room – it wasn’t cold enough for me and they promptly send up maintenance guys to fix the problem. The rooms are nice, clean and comfortable in general and if there are problems, the management are quick to try to fix the problem and find ways to make you comfortable. I would stay there again.” Guest review from travel.yahoo.com
“The Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Makati, is truly an oasis when I travel to the Philippines. Seldom is a hotel a highlight of one of my trips, but in this case the hospitality simply cannot be ignored. I have stayed in about every suite on the 17th and 18th floor and enjoyed them all…particularly room 1804. Even the bellmen remember my name when I arrive. The experience is simply spectacular.” Guest review from travel.yahoo.com
“We have the ticket-hotel package and I really didn’t expect to experience an excellent service and hotel. We are 2 adults and 2 children and they let us to use a duplex room which are very elegant and very nice. Our children loved our stay because they are able to use the swimming pool (the staff there are very courteous). Breakfast is just okay, eventhough the breakfast in Dusit Hotel is better. My only complain is the location, which is very far from the malls, restaurants. If the hotel can have an hourly shuttle bus going to the malls, it is better.” Guest review from travel.yahoo.com
“I have been to a lots of hotels around the world and this is simply one of the bests. Hotel’s staffs and services are really amazing, much more so the facilities and location of the hotel.the room is clean and gorgeous.I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Manila with family since I brought my family with me.” Guest review from travel.yahoo.com
“When I visit Manila, always I use this hotel. The staff in the reataurant are wonderfull and I can spend very nice time during taking breakfast. Then I can start the day nicely. They are very lovely and always with smile. Also other staff such as housekeeping staff and staff in the business center are very nice.” Guest review from www.tripadvisor.com
“I stayed at this hotel for 7 days and was more than impressed. The staff were so professional, courteous, helpful, etc. All my needs were immediately addressed and taken care of. I have traveled all over the world, and this hotel is the best place I have visited.” Guest review from www.tripadvisor.com
“Several years ago (03-04) I was responsible to find a suitable venue for two US/UN sponsored Seminars on Peacekeeping Operations. I meet with business staffs from most premiere Hotels in Manila (Makati). I found the Mandarin Oriental’s proposal to be the best value for the cost. Each Seminar brought 30 Asian and Pacific Island military leaders to discuss UN Peacekeeping…” Guest review from www.virtualtourist.com
“I have stayed at a lot of MOs over the years. Quality varies a bit but MOs are always at least a solid 4 stars. This property is by far the worst that I have experienced. MO should exit this property or make the investments needed to make this worthy of the brand name.” Guest review from www.virtualtourist.com
“I have stayed in Oriental hotels in Bangkok and Kuala Lumpa and always been wowed by the style and service. The Manila Oriental seems like it needs a re-furb! The room was ok, but for an Oriental felt a bit tired. The check in was poor – we had booked a double, they gave us a twin” Guest review from www.virtualtourist.com
“Right at the main entrance, my family and I were greeted by friendly concierge people. They wanted to carry my trolley bag. i told them that i can manage. but they insist that they cannot allow their guest to carry their luggage. at the time i booked, the personnel was very courteous.” Guest review from www.virtualtourist.com
